Our Events

Each year, our chapter holds certain annual events. From philanthropic endeavors to social events, we like to keep ourselves busy! Here are a few of the events that we conduct each academic year.

Philanthropy Events

Every spring semester, we passionately orchestrate a philanthropic event aimed at fundraising for a noble cause. In the vibrant spirit of spring, we host our annual 5k run, directing all generated proceeds towards the American Brain Tumor Association. The inception of this heartfelt tradition traces back to 2012, driven by the memory of our beloved brother, Joe Sazyc, who valiantly fought against brain cancer. Our unwavering dedication extends to the profound service of our community.

Community Service

Every year, we actively engage with our campus and local community through volunteer efforts. Whether it's supporting university-run events, assisting local businesses in their initiatives, or serving at food shelters, we understand that our dedication to community service is integral to our membership in this organization.

Social Events

Throughout the academic year, we collaborate with various sororities and fraternities on campus to organize engaging social events. These gatherings encompass a spectrum of enjoyable activities, ranging from lively game nights to cozy movie nights. Additionally, we celebrate holidays with themed events, such as our cherished annual pumpkin carving tradition. Some of our social events seamlessly transition into community service initiatives, like participating in Belle Isle's trash cleanup. Cultivating strong relationships with other campus organizations is a priority for us, as we truly value meaningful interactions with everyone in our campus community!

Semi-formal

Annually in November, we host our signature semi-formal gathering, affectionately dubbed 'Pikesgiving' within our chapter. This tradition has taken root due to its proximity to Thanksgiving. This special event serves as a platform for our members to foster camaraderie, share delightful meals, laughter, and create lasting memories. Every brother, accompanied by a date, partakes in a delightful dinner, reflecting on our achievements thus far and setting the tone for our aspirations in the coming year.

International Conferences

Annually, the Delta Nu chapter actively participates in Pike University events, an exclusive leadership program sponsored by the Fraternity. It stands as the sole nationwide initiative offering regional summits dedicated to enhancing the personal development of general members and their respective chapters. These conferences center around refining individuals' leadership skills and boosting their confidence. The impact extends beyond the chapter, as attendees gain invaluable tools for success in academics, professional endeavors, and life as a whole.

International Work Day

Each Summer and winter, our chapter holds an International Work Day. This is a day in which the brothers come together to improve the chapter house. Each IWD, we do at least one big project. For example, this past summer we redid the flooring on the first level of our house. On top of large projects, we also cater food and drinks to show appreciation for the hard work of our members.

Formal

As the academic year draws to a close, our chapter organizes an elegant dinner to commemorate our achievements. Members, accompanied by their dates, come together to revel in the accomplishments of the year. During this special occasion, we present awards to recognize the exceptional dedication and hard work of our brothers in contributing to our fraternity, community, and university. The event also includes the announcement of our Dream Girl for the year and introduces the incoming executive board for the upcoming school year.

There are so many more events we conduct each year. Our brotherhood events are held almost weekly to encourage brothers to take a break from their hard work and hang out with each other. Our weekly meetings allow us to come together and stay organized for future events we plan to hold. Our chapter also reserves library rooms for study hours to encourage brothers to stay on top of their school work. Our chapter also participate in the University IM League sports.
